Small Green Fen. I used the frame from an old lubricious magazine. The card was green to start, but there are many layers on top to get the stratification. It is hard to tell where the horizon lies sometimes in my local landscape.
It stands as an extended metaphor for the human condition. The surface is unyielding and the sourness suggests stymied plans and a journey less travelled. I could have been still in the North. We moved south when I was 7.
Going to private school changed things too. And I hated my university time, even being in London during the Punk era. I just didn't have the balls to grasp the nettle, to mix idioms in mid stream.
