These improvisation show determined disregard for 'true' anatomy (whatever that is). I started using enamel simply to guarantee small areas of paint would retain strength of colour on top of the ground, but the spots became an obsessive factor that could be used in abstraction and representational work. I see the contortions as metaphorical struggle with sexuality.
