Puberty

It can come sluggishly; it can turn the boy into a sluggard. We cannot tell what stage the youth is at, but the coil of the snail is like the cerebral labyrinth and curl of hair once it arrives. But it is also a depiction of the artistic process, a struggle with the primtive that leaves trails of slime on the perpetrator.
